ID Lock Motherboards iPhone
An ID lock board refers to an iPhone motherboard that has an Apple ID locked on it. We are unable to unlock these boards, which is why they are sold. 3 Reasons why we need these.
1. For Spare Parts
You might ask, isn’t purchasing a new IC as a spare part better? Why do we use parts from ID lock boards?
Even if you can get the same IC as a new part from a supplier, you never know if it is fully original or fully working. If the part is from an original ID lock board, it was fully working before. If it doesn’t work after you install it, it means there’s an issue with your skill or another problem, but it’s definitely not the supplier’s fault or the part itself.
2. For Transplant (Board Swapping)
Since these boards are fully working, they are excellent for transplant purposes. As long as the CPU, logic EEPROM, NAND, baseband CPU, and BB EEPROM are intact, no matter how badly the motherboard is damaged, we can move these components to the ID board to make the motherboard functional again. This is our final solution for extremely severely damaged motherboards.
3. For Training
A third reason for using ID lock boards is for training purposes. Because these boards are in perfect, fully working condition, we can test our skills on them. If you can desolder and reinstall every IC or component on a motherboard without causing any problems, then your skills are qualified. Of course, you don’t need to work on every IC on every single model, but there are some common ICs that frequently have issues and need replacement. The skill required to do this needs to be precise and well-trained; otherwise, you will create even bigger problems. Skill practice is very important.
This is why I need to remind you: no matter how good your theoretical knowledge is, if you don’t have the skills to carry out the job, it’s useless. You cannot consider yourself a technician. Let’s say you have very good skills—even without deep knowledge of theories or diagnostic skills, you can perform transplants. This alone can solve 100% of the problems caused by the motherboard.
That’s why in my live training class (not online), 99% of the time is dedicated to skills training. I’ll teach you every technique for perfect soldering without affecting the motherboard or creating other problems. I will tailor the skill training for each student, addressing their specific issues and giving them specific tasks to ensure they can do the job.
NOTE:
DO NOT buy CNC boards. CNC boards are drilled boards, meaning they have had certain ICs, such as the CPU, NAND, and baseband CPU, drilled off. Some people prefer these because they are either lazy or lack the proper skills to remove those components without causing additional problems.
Additionally, you never know if the board is fully working because the CPU is gone, making it impossible to read the condition from 3Utools.
